We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Financial Institution Credit Risk Manager, Asia Pacific.

 

 

 

Principal responsibilities

 

  • To support the Regional Head of Financial Institutions Credit Risk ASP in the day to day running of the FI Credit Risk Team. 

  • Provide counterparty credit analysis on Banks and other NBFI clients for the Asia Pacific region and coordinate Country Risk annual reviews on behalf of Group Risk.

  • Support HSBC with the assessments of new money and transactional credit limit requirements for Banks,

  • Sovereigns and other NBFI clients across the region and provide recommendations off the back of this analysis.

  • Provide ongoing credit risk related support and monitoring and MI requests for Banks, Sovereigns and other NBFI’s across the region.

  • Proactively monitor Banks, Sovereigns and other NBFI’s across the region ensuring appropriate management of deteriorating conditions in the portfolio and the factors influencing these circumstances. Ensure appropriate dissemination of this MI to management. 

  • Liaise with Group Risk in London and local site risk management across the region, as well as global markets and relationship managers in respect of all credit risk related issues associated with Sovereigns and the FI client sector. 

  • Assist line manager with the preparation of the monthly Risk Management Committee reports inclusive of analysis of our largest FI exposures, counterparties of concern, and pertinent credit issues.

 
Qualifications
 

 

Requirements

 

  • Strong experience of working in a bank or a financial institution, preferably in a trading risk management function specialising in Counterparty Credit Risk Analytics.

  • Team management skills are preferable but not essential skills.

  • Working experience in a sophisticated investment bank with indepth understanding in derivative valuations and exposure measurement principles.

  • Good understanding across all Global Markets products and risk mitigation techniques.

  • Good understanding of derivatives legal documentation.

  • Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the front office staff.

  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business.

  • Understand and interpret complex business requirements.

  • Good Windows OS and MS Office skills.
